She received her MA in journalism from Western University and her double BA honours in communication studies and human rights from Carleton University. She was born in India, grew up mostly in Singapore and currently resides in Canada.

Right, as a former Saskatchewan sportscaster, Conservative MP Kevin Waugh felt a kinship with Humboldt Broncos hockey team statistician Brody Hinz and welcomed him on a visit to Parliament's Centre Block on Nov. 7. Mr. Hinz was one of 15 team members and personnel killed after the bus they were travelling in collided with a tractor-trailer on April 6 northeast of Saskatoon.
