Anti-Trudeau sentiments, vote splits among left, star power: why 49 incumbents may have lost bids for re-election
The NDP will have to rebuild its ranks in Quebec after all but one MP lost in the province that had elevated the party to the official opposition status eight years ago.
Veteran MPs Ralph Goodale (Liberal) and Lisa Raitt (Conservative), along with Amarjeet Sohi (Liberal), Jane Philpott (Independent), Maxime Bernier (People's Party of Canada leader), Ruth Ellen Brosseau (NDP), Tracey Ramsey (NDP), and Guy Caron (NDP) were among 49 incumbents who were voted out by their constituents.
